The first scientific workshop and kick-off meeting of the Marie Curie Initial Training Network RADOX was held between the 16th and 17th of October 2013 in Brussels. It was attended by all so far recruited fellows and of all project partners or representatives.
The representatives of coordinator Vera Regitz-Zagrosek from Charité Berlin and organizer Uli Schotten from University Maastricht welcomed the participants.
The schedule included lectures and project presentations. Lectures were given by Uli Schotten (Maastricht), Carola Schubert Berlin), Thomas Krieg (Cambridge), Sander Verheule (Maastricht), Nina Kaluderic (Padua) and Keith Channon (Oxford). All project leaders or representatives of their groups presented the planned projects. During a business meeting for one hour in the evening, all project leaders discussed open questions regarding recruitment, next scientific and transferable workshops and other organizational staff. Vera Regitz-Zagrosek from Berlin informed all partners about the actual status of agreements. It was decided to have to representatives of the fellows within the governing board meetings. Maria Dulak from Glasgow and Evangelos Polakis from Charité had been elected by all fellows.
In the evening Uli Shotten had organized a very nice diner for all partners and fellows. We had a lot of good discussions and could meet each other in an easy way. We want to thank Uli Schotten for organizing a very nice scientific workshop and look forward to the next events.
